From his definitive runs on major DC franchises like Batman Beyond, Teen Titans, and Green Lantern Corps, to co-creating the groundbreaking DC hero Monkey Prince alongside Gene Luen Yang, Bernard’s dynamic style has continuously shaped the modern landscape of superheroes.
Currently, he is casting spells over at Marvel Comics as the main artist behind the hit ongoing series Sorcerer Supreme, while also delivering stunning variant cover art for Image Comics’ explosive action hit, Blood & Thunder. Beyond the page, he has even lent his brilliant imagination to the real world as a former Walt Disney Imagineer!

About
Bernard Chang
Bernard Chang is an Asian-American comic book artist and designer, best known for his work in the comic book and entertainment design industries. He is most noted as the artist and co-creator, along with writer Gene Luen Yang, of Monkey Prince (DC Comics) featuring DC’s newest superhero based on the legendary Monkey King and the Journey to the West mythology; and is currently the artist of Marvel Comics newest series, Sorcerer Supreme, featuring the Scarlet Witch taking over the magic mantle from Doctor Strange. Bernard is also a former Walt Disney Imagineer, designing rides and attractions as a blue sky concept designer.
At he age of 20, Bernard broke into the comic book industry in 1992, and under the tutelage of the legendary Bob Layton at Valiant Comics, he was voted onto the Wizard: The Guide to Comics Top Ten Artists list, as well as nominated for the Russ Manning Award for best newcomer in his rookie year. Since, he has drawn books such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Green Lantern Corps, Batman Beyond, Nightwing, Teen Titans, X-Men, Jean Grey, and PowerMan:Timeless.
Bernard received his bachelors degree in architecture from Pratt Institute, where he attended on a full scholarship, and was the captain of the men’s basketball team. Former Assistant Coach of the Miami Heat, Tony Fiorentino, projected Bernard as a late third round pick in the 1995 NBA draft, before his career in art took off.
