A native of Cairns, Brenton Thwaites studied acting at the Queensland University of Technology, during which time he made his debut in the independent film Charge Over You. After graduation, he guest-starred in Sea Patrol, before landing a starring role in the teen drama series, Slide.

Relocating to Sydney, Brenton was cast as River Boy Stu Henderson in the 24th season of Home and Away. After five months on Home and Away, Brenton moved to the United States, where his first starring role was in Blue Lagoon: The Awakening opposite fellow Australian and Home and Away alum Indiana Evans. He then stepped into the world of horror as the male lead of Mike Flanagan’s Oculus.

Back home, Brenton scored a starring role opposite Ewan McGregor in the crime thriller Son of a Gun, before joining the ranks of Disney princes, as Prince Phillip in Maleficent. He also starred in the dark sci-fi film The Signal and played opposite Hollywood legends Jeff Bridges and Meryl Streep in The Giver, winning the Australians in Film “Breakthrough Award” for the latter role.

Once more in Australia, Brenton starred in the action fantasy epic Gods of Egypt, before returning to the Disney fold in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, as Henry Turner, the son of Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner and Keira Knightley’s Elizabeth Swann.

Brenton next led the hilarious workplace zombie horror comedy Office Uprising, before a string of starring roles in An Interview with God, A Violent Separation, Ghosts of War and I Met a Girl. He then joined another action-packed universe, leading the ensemble of the DC Universe series Titans as Dick Grayson, aka Robin and later Nightwing for four years.

Post-Titans, Brenton joined Daisy Ridley for the introspective zombie film We Bury the Dead, joined the cast of How to Make Gravy, and currently stars in Australian hit Two Years Later.
