We are sad to say we received some difficult news overnight regarding Casper. He has unfortunately fallen ill, and as his condition is not improving, he has not been medically cleared to fly. While we are deeply disappointed that he can no longer join Michael Ironside to meet you all, his health must come first. We wish Casper a full and speedy recovery.

About
Casper Van Dien
Born in Florida, Casper Van Dien grew up on Van Dien Avenue in Ridgewood, New Jersey, which was named after his great-great-great-grandfather. Graduating from Admiral Farragut Academy, he attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, before moving to Los Angeles, where he landed a number of small parts in various television series and movies, including One Life to Live, Dangerous Women, Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and Beverly Hills, 90210.
Some of his earlier movie roles included King Tal in Beastmaster III: The Eye of Braxus, and as James Dean in the James Dean biopic James Dean: Race with Destiny, but he soon secured his breakout role, as Johnny Rico in Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 science fiction action film Starship Troopers.
This wildly popular role in one of the biggest cult films in history resulted in his casting as Tarzan in Tarzan and the Lost City, and Brom von Brunt in Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow, opposite Johnny Depp and Christina Ricci.
He later reprised his role of Johnny Rico in the video games Starship Troopers and Starship Troopers: Extermination, as well as Starship Troopers 3: Marauder and Starship Troopers: Traitors of Mars, and produced the animated film Starship Troopers: Invasion.
Casper has subsequently featured in many other films and TV shows, including Cutaway, Aaron Spelling’s Titans, Chasing Destiny, The Curse of King Tut’s Tomb, Watch Over Me, Aces ‘N’ Eights, Monk, The Pact, The Conway Curve, Hawaii Five-O, Alita: Battle Angel, Real Talk, A Tale of Two Guns, Daughter, Mad Heidi, Heart of a Champion, All American, Stripped and many more.
He dove into the world of comedy with crazy creature features Sharktopus vs. Whalewolf and Ratpocalypse, played versions of himself in the hilarious miniseries Crunch Time and nerd odyssey Noobz, featured as Hawk Guy in the Avengers spoof Interns of F.I.E.L.D., as well as starring as hunky bartender John Boutell in Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion’s Conman, and played a leading role in All About the Money with Eddie Griffin and Danny Trejo.
Family connections have always been important for Casper, starring with his daughter Grace in the films Army Dog and Lady Driver, and in the reality series I Married a Princess, focusing on his family life with Catherine Oxenburg, the Princess of Yugoslavia.
He also played charismatic cult leader Gideon Sterling in Netflix’s hit series Wednesday, and has starred as Johnny Cage in both Mortal Kombat: Legacy and Mortal Kombat X: Generations.
