About
Freddy Carter
Frederick James Carter was born in Plymouth, Devon and grew up predominantly in Somerset, though he spent time in Cyprus and Virginia Beach. He trained in acting at the Oxford School of Drama, after which he featured in the Rose Theatre Kingston’s The Wars of the Roses and later He starred as Alexander Flint in the 2018 production of Harley Granville-Barker’s Agnes Colander in the Theatre Royal in Bath.
Freddy made his onscreen debut as a soldier in Wonder Woman, after which he landed his first major role as Peter “Pin” Hawthorne in the Netflix series Free Rein, followed by Ellis in the horror film The Convent. In 2019, he wrote and directed his first short film, No. 89, and performed the role of Tom in 15 Days and Jason Ripper in Pennyworth.
Freddy was announced In October 2019 to star as Kaz Brekker in Shadow and Bone, an adaptation of the fantasy book series The Grisha Trilogy and the Six of Crows Duology by Leigh Bardugo. The Six of Crows part of the story, centred on Kaz and his crew received particular praise from publications including Rolling Stone, Vulture, and CNET. Freddy has recently appeared as surgical student Gideon Fletcher in The Doll Factory and the acclaimed miniseries Masters of the Air.
