Gary has been a massive force in local storytelling for well over a decade, living and breathing comics from every angle—as a reader, retailer, editor, and creator.
He’ll be holding down the fort alongside his Gestalt Comics crew, ready to sign fan-favourite books like his gritty sword-and-sorcery epic Talgard, the giant monster smash-hit Kongutan vs Kraken, and the tragic mythological romance Proud Heart: The Love of Achilles.

Gary Proudley
Since getting his first comic at the age of ten, Gary has had a love of the comics medium, exactly the kind of love you’d expect to read about in a bio like this. He has seen comics from every side. Customer and retailer. Reader and writer. He has been a vibrant part of the Australian comics scene for well over a decade.
Gary has been assistant editor on a number of Gestalt Publishing titles, including the multiple award-winning series THE DEEP. His writing credits include the adaptation of Plato’s ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE, revisiting ancient romance in PROUD HEART: THE LOVE OF ACHILLES, the sword and sorcery adventure series of TALGARD, the flavour-filled nostalgia of FOOD/LOVE and the megafauna fight sensation KONGUTAN VS KRAKEN
