Scott Christopher Grimes is an American actor and singer, born in Lowell, Massachusetts. He started acting at an early age, co-starring with Mickey Rooney in It Came Upon the Midnight Clear and appearing in the Twilight Zone episode Little Boy Lost. He also began singing in childhood, appearing on Bob Hope’s Royal Command Performance from Sweden in 1986, singing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” for, amongst other guests, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. In 1987 he performed on Time by Richard Carpenter of the Carpenters. His first album, Scott Grimes, was released by A&M Records in 1989. In 2005 he released his second album, Livin’ on the Run, with his third, Drive, coming in 2010.

On TV, Scott played Jack Randall on the CBS sitcom Together We Stand, which was retitled Nothing is Easy, featured alongside Breckin Meyer on Potato Head Kids, then voiced Pinocchio in the dark animated film Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night. Many other roles followed, including regular appearances on Foofur, guest starring roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation, My Two Dads, 21 Jump Street and Wings, He appeared in Bring Me the Head of Dobie Gillis, featured as Alyssa Milano’s love interest, Chad McCann, in Who’s the Boss, starred in Goode Behavior with Sherman Hemsley and played series regular Will McCorkle in Party of Five. He has guest starred in Dexter, Suits, Criminal Minds and Shameless, featured in Republic of Doyle as Jimmy O’Rourke, as Special Agent Dave Flynn on NCIS: Los Angeles, having previously played a different character on the original NCIS, and played the criminal Seabass alongside Garret Dillahunt on the critically acclaimed Justified, going up against Timothy Olyphant.

In one of his most prominent roles, Scott starred as Sergeant Donald Malarkey in the universally acclaimed HBO mini series Bands of Brothers, after which he went on to one of television’s biggest hits, ER, where he played Dr. Archie Morris for seven years, a role initially providing comic relief, but which grew over the years into a well-respected and beloved character.

Scott’s film credits include The Night They Saved Christmas, Night Life, Frog and its sequel, Frogs!, Crimson Tide, Mystery, Alaska, Who’s Your Monkey aka Throwing Stars, Winter’s Tale, Oppenheimer and Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood, alongside Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett, later singing with Crowe in his band ‘Indoor Garden Party’. He is also well known by cult movie fans as Bradley Brown in the first two Critters films.

Since 2005, Scott has voiced Steve Smith in Seth MacFarlane’s American Dad!. Clearly appreciative of Scott’s talents, Seth repeatedly cast him in other projects. He voiced a number of characters in Family Guy, including Joe Swanson’s son, Kevin; starred as helmsman Gordon Malloy, the best friend of Seth’s Captain Ed Mercer on The Orville, and can currently be seen playing family patriarch Matty Bennett on the Ted.
