About
Scott Wilson
Scott Wilson is a Gooniyandi man from Muladja community and a Miriuwung Gajerrongman from Kununurra. He grew up on Yawuru country, Western Australia.
In 2010, Scott was the recipient of the Indigenous Youth of the Year award. After graduating university, majoring in Anthropology and Indigenous History and Heritage, he studied in South America, learning about the First Nations peoples in Chile, before returning to Australia and supporting the implementation of an early childhood program in Broome called “Our Mob as First Educators.”
His passion to connect and help people led him to becoming an Advocate for Youth Mental Health and supporting a national initiative to destigmatise the sharing of lived experiences, inform better ways of self-care and encourage more literacy to educate people on social emotional wellbeing.
Scott has spent his whole life searching for solutions to help break the cycle of systemic issues impacting First Nations peoples and all those affected by low-socio economic disadvantage in Australia. He believes that creativity, innovation, and collaboration is the key to social and environmental change nationally and internationally.
These same passions, combined with a love of pop culture, have led him to develop an Aboriginal superhero comic universe, the INDIGIVERSE! The flagship title, DARKHEART, has been a bestseller right around Australia.
THE INDIGIVERSE: THE OLDEST LIVING CULTURES INSPIRING THE NEWEST LIVING SUPERHEROES
The INDIGIVERSE is Gooniyandi-Miriuwung Gajerrong man Scott Wilson’s vision for an Aboriginal superhero comics universe, inspired by First Nations culture and stories.
The flagship title, DARK HEART, and future INDIGIVERSE comics are aimed at helping to protect, preserve, share and celebrate the rich nature of First Nations culture in Australia, and to share it with the world.
