As the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief of Gestalt, Wolfgang is definitely the “Yoda” of our Aussie comics scene! He has spent over two decades completely reshaping the landscape of Australian graphic storytelling, publishing dozens of properties, bringing attention to many of our great Australian creators, and mentoring within the Australia Society of Authors and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.

About
Wolfgang Bylsma
Wolf is the co-founder and Editor-in-Chief for GESTALT COMICS. He also serves as chief executive for Comics On Country, a not-for-profit organisation established to support more First Nations voices in the Australian comics industry.
Wolf’s publishing endeavours have helped change the nature of the comics industry in Australia and assisted in building reputations and careers for Australian talent on the international stage.
With a passion for fostering creativity, Wolf has also been a mentor for the Australian Society of Authors and the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, and served as Consulting Editor for other publishing houses. Along with his role as Executive Producer on The Deep animated series and Lustration VR series, he serves as a Creative Consultant on additional TV and Film projects. He was also featured as one of the main subjects in the television documentary series Comic Book Heroes screened on ABC TV, which chronicled the highs and lows of publishing comics and graphic novels in Australia.
A sought-after speaker, Wolf has delivered lectures at Universities in NSW, QLD, VIC and WA, and presented seminars and panel discussions at San Diego Comic-Con (USA), Asian Festival of Children’s Content(Singapore),Little Lit Festival (Phillippines) as well as literary festivals, conferences and conventions around Australia.
His own writing credits include adapting theWastelander Panda ABCTV iView series to graphic novel form, and co-writing the Cleverman comics with TV series creator, Ryan Griffen.
In 2022, following a long term mentorship, Wolf co-founded the Indigiverse with Scott Wilson and Benny Eggmolesse, and serves as editor for all of their comic series currently in development.
